Tenorite (also called Black Copper) is another one of the minerals associated with Copper reserves and chrysocolla veins. Tenorite is a near black, dark grey metallic shining copper oxide that can be polished to mirror quality and is often mixed into Chrysocolla veins in Peru. Description: Tenorite is a copper oxide. It is of secondary origin and forms in the oxidation zones of copper ore bodies. Associated minerals are quartz, limonite, azurite, chrysocolla, malachite, cuprite, and other secondary copper minerals. It is typically found as vein fillings.

Mining/Collection: Appears associated with Chrysocolla and Azurite in veins from 0 to 70 meters of depth on top of copper reservoirs.
