Description: "K2 Granite," also known as "K2 Jasper" and "raindrop azurite," is an extremely interesting rock and lapidary material from the Skardu area of northern Pakistan. K2 is form of gneis granite with blue spots. It's named after the K2 mountain in Pakistan, where it's found exclusively.

  • Unique Facts: The K2 is a mountain in the Karakoram range of the Himalayas, located on the border of Pakistan and China. It's the second-highest mountain in the world, after Mount Everest, and is known as "The Savage Mountain" because it's considered one of the most difficult mountains to climb. The K2 was named by Thomas G. Montgomery, a member of a European topographic team that surveyed the mountain in 1856, because it was the second peak in the Karakoram range
