Description: The mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, is an iron sulfide with the formula FeS2. Pyrite is very common and present in any country. However, when it comes to pyrite collectors’ crystals and pyrite for jewelry, Peruvian pyrite probably covers 90 % of the global market. In Peru, the best pyrite comes from the Huanzala mine. Pyrite is possibly the most underrated jewelry material. This is because most Pyrite jewelry is made from very low-quality material.
